About The Position

Burson, part of WPP, is seeking to hire a Vice President with deep expertise in Technology Policy and Public Affairs Communications for its Corporate and Public Affairs practice, based in Washington DC. The VP will lead large, complex client relationships, coalitions, and programs, focusing on integrated public affairs communications, account, and project management. This role involves advising on technology industry issues, synthesizing information into communication strategies and tactics, and managing the development and execution of deliverables and core team projects. It offers an opportunity to work on global technology policy issues impacting various stakeholders worldwide.

Requirements

Minimum of 10 years of experience in communication policy roles of increasing complexity operating in a high-stakes and fast-paced environment.
Understanding of U.S. and geopolitical dynamics for the technology industry and experience with policy challenges faced by technology companies.
Previous experience providing counsel and information within the technology public affairs / communications or policy arenas.
Strong relationship development skills with the ability to gain trust quickly, influence outcomes, and establish consensus diplomatically and consultatively.
Strong writing, research, and strategic analysis skills.

Nice To Haves

Former in-house, government, or agency experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Strategic public relations/public affairs communications management and execution.
Coalition and client management, including cross-market coordination, integrated communications deliverables, consultant/vendor workflow oversight, and account financials.
Media relations strategy development and execution (traditional, digital, and social) across Beltway, corporate, and tech industry platforms.
