About The Position

The Vice President, Strategic Marketing, Datacenter Vertical is responsible for all strategic marketing activities within the Datacenter market vertical. This includes developing market strategy, monitoring key trends, and collaborating with Business Units (BUs) to define product strategy and roadmaps. The role drives the strategic planning process, identifies new platform opportunities, develops business cases, and secures cross-functional buy-in for program launches. Additionally, the VP establishes go-to-market strategies, develops value propositions and marketing plans, and works with sales and customers to drive market penetration. This position also involves building relationships with customers' customers and end-customers' decision-makers, providing thought leadership, and serving as an external spokesperson on roadmap and strategy at various industry events. Participation in standards bodies and industry groups is also expected.

Requirements

  • Technical background and education (BS/MS) combined with significant business experience (in Engineering Leadership, Product Management, Marketing, Business Development or Sales roles) and a proven track record of success in these roles.
  • 20 years experience in Datacenter market.
  • Strong understanding of the Datacenter market vertical value chain, market and competitor dynamics.
  • Industry recognized leader with strong relationships with key decision makers at customer/end customers.
  • Ability to easily and successfully work in a multi-cultural, global team environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and complex issues involving external and internal priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Set a high standard of ethics, professionalism. leadership and competence.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and business acumen, with the ability to translate Datacenter market trends into product roadmaps, investment priorities, and long-term growth strategies.
  • Strong influence, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills to secure alignment across global business units, executives, customers, and external industry partners.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical and market concepts and serve as a credible internal and external spokesperson.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all strategic marketing activities for the Datacenter market vertical.
  • Develop Market Strategy and secure buy-in.
  • Monitor and report on key trends and impact on existing business & product roadmap.
  • In collaboration with the BUs, develop the product Strategy and roadmap.
  • Drive strategic planning process including for the 5YP, and make recommendations for resource prioritization and allocation (Capex and R&D).
  • Identify new platform opportunities (2-3+ year view), work with platform teams, develop business case and strategy, secure cross-functional buy-in and drive the launch of programs.
  • Facilitate New Platform Project Prioritization and resource allocation process at COHERENT level.
  • Establish go-to-market strategies, develop value proposition, develop marketing plan, and work with sales and end customers for push/pull.
  • Develop relationships with customer's customer and end customers’ planners and decision makers.
  • Provide thought leadership, developing and evangelizing platform success stories - internally and externally.
  • Serves as the COHERENT External Spokesperson on roadmap & strategy at market, industry, investor events.
  • Participate directly or indirectly in Standards bodies and industry groups to drive COHERENT agenda.
