About The Position

The Vice President of Strategic Partnerships is the driving force behind Signant Health's strategy to unlock new revenue streams through strategic partnerships and new business development constructs in the clinical trials market. Signant Health is a leading provider of technology and services to the clinical research and life sciences industry, and this role is critical to expanding our market position and revenue by building strategic partnerships with pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, contract research organizations (CROs), and technology providers. This role has end-to-end responsibility for identifying, framing, and closing high-impact partnerships that generate material revenue for the company. This role sits within the Marketing organization, reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer — distinct from the Chief Commercial Officer's sales organization. This leader will build executive-level relationships with decision-makers at target partners and convert them into partnership agreements with clear revenue potential, focusing on net-new strategic partnerships rather than managing existing accounts or a defined sales process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 12+ years of progressive business development, partnerships, or alliances experience with demonstrated success in identifying, negotiating, and closing partnerships that generated material revenue
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with C-suite executives and senior decision-makers at major organizations across multiple industries, geographies, and regulatory environments
  • Track record of building new business lines, entering new markets, or scaling revenue through partnerships, ecosystem development, or strategic alliances
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex partnership pipelines, forecast revenue accurately, and hold cross-functional teams accountable to partnership-driven revenue targets
  • Strong business acumen including deal economics, partnership structuring, and the ability to identify strategic overlaps and articulate quantifiable commercial value
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills; demonstrated ability to adapt messaging and approach in real time to keep stakeholders engaged
  • High emotional intelligence with genuine warmth, persistence, and determination; ability to leave positive impressions even when outcomes are unfavorable or timelines extend
  • Skilled at navigating complex organizational dynamics, influencing without direct authority, and moving strategic ideas through internal stakeholder networks to secure cross-functional support

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or advanced business degree
  • Prior experience in healthcare, life sciences, clinical research, or healthcare technology sectors

Responsibilities

  • Develop a systematic, metrics-driven approach to identifying prospective partners where strategic overlap creates quantifiable revenue potential; build and maintain an active pipeline with clear revenue projections and probability assessments
  • Qualify opportunities rigorously, focusing external engagement effort on prospects with genuine commercial potential and strategic fit
  • Map strategic overlaps between Signant's capabilities and external partners' agendas, identifying where partnership creates new revenue or accelerates market entry that neither party could achieve independently
  • Generate and facilitate meaningful conversations with C-suite executives and senior decision-makers across prospective partner organizations
  • Build enduring relationships that remain active over time, ensuring that even when initial discussions do not yield immediate opportunities, doors remain open for future initiatives and partners maintain positive perception of Signant
  • Create genuine engagement even with skeptical external parties, using strategic framing and relationship excellence to shift perspective and unlock interest
  • Force critical partnership discussions into existence, sharpen pitch narratives, and articulate the strategic throughline and revenue value so both internal leadership and external partners clearly see the commercial opportunity
  • Own advancement of opportunities from initial concept through deal close, removing blockages and driving toward concrete partnership agreements with favorable commercial terms
  • Exercise practical creativity under pressure to construct partnership narratives and deal structures that are market-competitive and deliver quantifiable revenue potential
  • Develop deep, operational knowledge of Signant's internal assets, capabilities, relationships, proof points, and competitive differentiators
  • Navigate internal organizational dynamics to surface and mobilize Signant's strongest assets for external partnership conversations, deploying capabilities strategically to make the company an attractive and commercially compelling partner
  • Build and lead internal partnerships across functional teams (product, clinical, operations, legal, finance) to ensure seamless support and handoff to operational execution
  • Maintain regular, structured communication with the Chief Commercial Officer and sales leadership to keep strategic partnership pursuits coordinated with the tactical and strategic sales efforts underway across the commercial organization
  • Identify, frame, and close partnerships while providing transparency with sales leadership regarding partner engagement, pipeline status, and deal timing — and coordinating the same transparency in return
  • Partner with sales leadership to align on account-level strategy and messaging where partnership and sales efforts intersect, so that outreach is coordinated rather than duplicative and joint opportunities are identified early
  • Own the handoff and early execution phase to ensure partnerships successfully launch and begin generating revenue according to projections
  • Track and report realized partnership revenue against targets; maintain post-close relationship stewardship with key partners to deepen engagement, uncover expansion opportunities, and ensure long-term value realization.
