About The Position

At MJH Life Sciences, we are seeking a Vice President, Scientific Affairs, to lead the scientific and educational direction of Pharmacy Times Continuing Education (PTCE). You will oversee the development of CE-certified educational activities, drive strategic initiatives that support PTCE's growth, and manage a high-performing Scientific Affairs team. This is a senior leadership role for a deeply credentialed medical education professional who brings clinical expertise, regulatory fluency, and the leadership presence to represent PTCE at the highest levels — with clients, faculty, thought leaders, and key conferences across the industry. You are expected to leverage AI as a core part of how you lead, create, and scale educational content and team output.

Requirements

  • PharmD or other advanced degree, with 10 to 12 years of overall strategic experience in continuing education or a related industry
  • At least 5 years of experience managing people, with a track record of building and developing high-performing scientific or medical education teams
  • At least 5 years of experience in medical education grant writing and content development in CME or CE
  • An AI-native mindset. You actively use tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or AI-assisted research and writing platforms to improve how you develop content, analyze literature, and lead your team — and you can speak to the impact
  • Deep knowledge of ACPE and other regulatory standards governing the development of CME and CE activities
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills in medical education and publishing, including the ability to interpret complex clinical data and present it with clarity and precision
  • Strong command of evidence-based medicine across multiple therapeutic areas, with the ability to conduct and apply independent literature analysis
  • Results-oriented, analytical, and highly organized — you thrive in deadline-driven environments and hold yourself and your team to an uncompromising standard of quality
  • Self-motivated and collaborative, with impeccable time management and the ability to manage multiple complex projects and competing priorities simultaneously
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently while maintaining alignment with organizational goals and client expectations

Nice To Haves

  • Specific tools in active use and how they support content development, literature review, proposal writing, or team workflows
  • Measurable impact such as improved program quality, faster content development cycles, or increased grant success rates
  • How you approach AI use responsibly in a regulated medical education environment, including compliance with ACPE and CME standards
  • Bonus: examples of AI-assisted educational programs, content frameworks, or operational improvements that elevated scientific output or team performance

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Scientific Affairs team, managing direct reports and driving training, onboarding, and ongoing professional development across the group
  • Use AI tools to improve the speed and quality of content development, literature analysis, proposal writing, and educational program execution
  • Collaborate with the Business Development team to achieve business and revenue goals through strategic proposal development, grant writing, and client engagement
  • Identify clinical and educational gaps that represent CE programming opportunities, and translate those insights into fundable, high-impact educational initiatives
  • Develop and oversee text-based and multimedia CE-certified activities — live and online — ensuring all content meets ACPE and relevant regulatory standards
  • Stay current on clinical data, therapeutic area trends, medical writing standards, and regulatory developments that affect educational programming and grant funding strategies
  • Serve as internal subject matter advisor across educational partnerships, instructional design, adult learning principles, outcomes assessment, and ACPE policy
  • Recruit, manage, and build relationships with program faculty and a network of freelancers and thought leaders
  • Write, edit, and collaborate with faculty and freelancers on CE documents, maintaining quality, budget adherence, and on-time delivery across all programs
  • Lead conference calls and communications with clients, faculty, and authors — serving as a trusted strategic partner and scientific voice for PTCE
  • Serve as PTCE's senior representative at assigned core conferences, supporting on-site execution of educational activities as needed
  • Lead significant process improvement and workflow management efforts, and manage continuous internal quality improvement initiatives
  • Identify opportunities for publication and presentation on continuing professional development and educational outcomes
  • Travel approximately 15 to 20 percent of the time for project-related work, conference representation, and office-based meetings
