About The Position

This is an invitation to a transformative career chapter. Bally's Chicago is developing a $1.7 billion integrated resort along the Chicago River, featuring 500 hotel rooms, 50,000 square feet of convention space, a 3,000-seat entertainment venue, and a unique meetings and conventions campus. The company is seeking a VP of Convention Sales to establish the group business foundation for this significant hospitality opening. This role involves creating the sales strategy, vision, and team from the ground up before the resort opens. The ideal candidate is a visionary leader who can build and execute a sales strategy, assemble a high-performing team, and drive revenue in a pre-opening environment.

Requirements

  • Experience selling on vision before a product exists.
  • Proven ability to assemble teams that outperform expectations.
  • Experience carrying the weight of a pre-opening environment with grace and grit.
  • Ability to create a roadmap rather than needing one.
  • Experience in building a foundation for group business in a major hospitality opening.
  • Ability to create from vision to strategy to pipeline to team before opening.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the full pre-opening sales strategy for group and convention business.
  • Build the sales team, define account targeting, and create a sales pipeline from day one.
  • Establish and manage revenue strategy and booking pace across corporate, association, medical, and citywide markets.
  • Forge strategic partnerships with organizations such as Choose Chicago, DMCs, MPI, PCMA, and other key industry intermediaries.
