About The Position

Our Property Tax – Complex Advisory/Compliance Vice President will assist in managing a team of personal property analysts and senior associates who are responsible for full property tax cycle management on behalf of Kroll’s roster of clients in the power generation, midstream, telecommunications, and complex manufacturing sectors. Property tax cycle management includes analysis and review of value positions taken in returns/renditions, analyzing assessment work papers and valuation notices, interfacing with assessment officials on property tax protests (both formal and informal), and coordinating with clients on tax accrual and bill payment issues. This position will be hybrid out of any of the locations Richardson, Houston or Austin, TX.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent years of property tax related experience
  • 6 years or more of relevant personal property tax compliance and/or advisory experience
  • Excellent project management and presentation skills, including superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent relationship management skills and an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Sound knowledge of personal property tax forms and procedures of various state and local jurisdictions
  • Extensive experience in the use of Microsoft Excel

Responsibilities

  • Development of valuation analytics (income approach valuations, obsolescence calculations, etc.)
  • Development and presentation of client valuation positions
  • Review of assessor workpapers, models, and valuation inputs
  • Meet with assessors in efforts to reach fair and equitable property tax valuations on behalf of clients
  • Drive business development activities, both individually and a part of a team
  • Assisting as needed in the oversight, management, and functions of property tax compliance – asset preparation, return/rendition preparation and review, tax bill processing, and management reporting
