WSP is currently initiating a search for a Vice President, Project & Program Management to work in Minnesota.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Extensive Design-Build project delivery experience on major utility projects as a Program Manager
  • 12+ years of relevant Program Management experience, including 5+ years of experience in managing the delivery of major power projects and programs.
  • Proven experience in the delivery of public infrastructure projects, with construction costs exceeding $250 million
  • Familiarity with major utility clients or similar agency policies and procedures
  • Proficiency with power engineering principles, practices, process, standard of care, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Responsibilities

  • Serve in a program manager role on elements of a mega power project delivered via various delivery methods
  • Lead the delivery of multiple connected power projects, through the preliminary design and oversight of the final design, construction and closeout phases
  • Manage the commercial interest of the client while driving the on-time and on-budget delivery
  • Responsible for independent review of project progress
  • Perform schedule review and analysis
  • Provide solutions to project issues
  • Review and strategize improvement to key operational performance metrics
  • Support and empower staff and direct reports to execute project assignments on time and on budget
  • Develop and maintain Project Management Plans to include Program Controls, Document Control, Design Management, Construction Management, Risk Management, Safety Management, Quality Control, and Environmental Compliance
  • Develop and maintain relationships with public and private sector clients, agencies, partner firms and sub-consultants, as well as other external stakeholders such as vendors and suppliers.
  • Lead staff development which includes mentoring, training, coaching and professional development.
  • Accountable for overall management and successful execution of consultant’s contract to ensure performance and profitability.
  • Create a learning culture that values innovative subject matter expertise and fosters effective and continual personal development.
  • Develop and implement a communication strategy to increase the effectiveness of discipline-related processes, systems, and practices, and mitigating discipline-related risks.
  • Manage overall delivery team’s performance and provide inspiring leadership to assigned management and staff.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business and client needs.
