About The Position

Goldman Sachs Services LLC is seeking a Vice President, Project Management in New York, New York. This role involves leading the delivery of strategic cross-divisional initiatives using Agile methodologies and governance tools to ensure timely, on-budget, and high-quality implementations. The position requires partnering with Engineering, Business, and Operations project sponsors to build complex solutions while managing competing priorities. Key responsibilities include recognizing, reporting, and escalating project risks, overseeing remediation, and identifying and removing program-level impediments. The role also involves working with product owners to define strategic vision and roadmaps, refine backlogs, define quality assurance and testing approaches, coach the team on testing best practices, and develop migration strategies. People management is a significant aspect, including daily work assignments, performance monitoring, task delegation, deadline setting, and establishing clear performance goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Mathematics, Economics, Business Administration, Finance, or related field. Employer will accept single degree or any combination of degrees, certificates and/or professional work experience where determined to be equivalent to U.S. bachelor's degree by a qualified credential evaluation service.
  • Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role.
  • Managing programs and projects in an investment bank or at a financial services firm.
  • Translating business requirements into engineering deliverables.
  • Analyzing complex data sets to determine themes, root cause analysis, and solution design, including process analysis.
  • Managing projects including, project scope definition, project issues, challenges, risks definition, status reporting, and User Acceptance Test execution.
  • Working closely with multiple stakeholders during all phases of the project lifecycle, providing succinct status updates to senior stakeholders, and influencing decisions.
  • Utilizing Agile Project management tools, including JIRA and JIRA portfolio, for managing complex programs, to track programs from initiation to go-live.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of strategic cross divisional initiatives using Agile methodologies and governance tools.
  • Ensure implementations are delivered on time, on budget and are high quality.
  • Partner with Engineering, Business, and Operations project sponsors to build complex solutions while balancing competing priorities.
  • Recognize, report, and escalate project risks to senior partners; oversee remediation of risks raised.
  • Identify and remove impediments at program level, leveraging stakeholders, sponsorship, and other relationships.
  • Work with product owners to build the strategic vision and forward-looking roadmap and refine the backlog of demand.
  • Define quality assurance and testing approaches.
  • Provide coaching to the team on testing best practices.
  • Develop migration strategies for post testing.
  • People Management including day to day work assignment, monitor team performance, delegate tasks, and set deadlines, set clear performance goals.
