About The Position

Astronomer is seeking a Vice President of Product Marketing to lead how customers understand, choose, and adopt its products. This leader will turn Astronomer’s technical platform into a clear, differentiated story for data engineering, AI, and executive audiences, shaping positioning, messaging, category strategy, and launch strategy. The role owns the narrative across Astro, Astro Private Cloud, and agentic orchestration and AI capabilities, while connecting Product, Sales, and Marketing around a shared story. Reporting to the SVP of Marketing, the Vice President will partner closely with leaders in Product, Engineering, Sales, Demand Generation, and Customer Success. The role includes building, coaching, and scaling a high-performing product marketing organization while remaining hands-on in sharpening the company’s messaging and strategy. The position is remote-based, with a hybrid option in New York City or the San Francisco Bay Area.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in B2B product marketing, including 5+ years leading product marketing teams.
  • Track record defining positioning and category strategy for an enterprise software, data, or developer-focused platform and demonstrating impact on pipeline, win rates, and revenue.

  • Experience leading major product launches and go-to-market motions across Product, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success.
  • Proven ability to build, develop, and retain a high-performing team, including hiring talent and raising standards for craft and rigor.

  • Data-driven approach to strategy, using customer insight, competitive intelligence, and win/loss data to make decisions and measure program impact.
  • Experience enabling a global field organization with messaging, sales tools, and training that sales representatives use.
  • Strategic thinking combined with a bias toward action and willingness to contribute hands-on.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and pace in a fast-growing company, and a collaborative, low-ego style.
