About The Position

The Vice President of Product Management will identify, develop and drive key strategic product initiatives aimed at identifying and promoting opportunities for organic growth, market and channel opportunity expansion, technology-enabled innovation, and borrower and client engagement and retention to drive shareholder value creation. Key areas of focus will include identifying market opportunities, conducting competitive analysis, understanding borrower and client needs and implementing plans and programs to increase market share and win rate, enhance customer retention, deliver an exceptional homeowner experience and a superior client value proposition. This position will work across organization disciplines and drive integrated change. This individual must be comfortable levering innovative technology, establishing strategy, leading through influence and partnering with business segment teams to drive implementation and execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance or a related field preferred; MBA or advanced degree highly preferred
  • 10+ years of work experience in housing finance with a focus on product management, strategic planning and secondary market investor relations
  • Deep knowledge of housing finance including all forward lending product segments (GSE, Government, Non-agency), competitive landscape, industry participants and supporting technologies
  • Extensive experience in working with the non-agency investor universe and established relationships with investors including insurance companies, securitizers, banks
  • Demonstrated success in identifying, planning and implementing strategic opportunities
  • Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Track record of bringing together different constituents from across the organization and championing enterprise-wide initiatives
  • Ability to strategize over longer time horizons and develop views on how to address and capitalize on emerging trends
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build and sustain relationships
  • Familiarity and experience levering technology to drive change and enhance the customer experience
  • Successful track record of developing strong relationships across a broad range of leadership functions allowing for effective influencing and change
  • Work with internal and external parties, across locations and time zones, in the execution of projects and identification/resolution of deficiencies or opportunities for improvement
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Must pass the Company’s Background Screening process prior to beginning employment. Additionally, as a condition of employment, you may be required to pass client-specific background check requirements or Federal/State licensing requirements, if applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key member of the strategic growth team and contribute to the overall direction and strategy of the organization
  • In collaboration with Lending and Capital Markets, develop and manage the Company’s overall lending product strategy with a heavy emphasis on non-agency oriented products
  • Oversee the full product lifecycle within both Originations and Servicing – from strategy and market assessment and roadmap development to design, go-to-market planning, implementation, performance management and continuous optimization
  • Drive product performance, improving customer experience, ensuring competitive positioning, and identifying opportunities for profitable and responsible growth and efficiency throughout the lifecycle of each offering. This includes aligning product capabilities with borrower needs, market opportunities, regulatory requirements, and ensuring proper implementation across the enterprise.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert supporting the teams responsible for non-agency lending, credit risk, compliance, delivery, and servicing activities
  • Oversee implementation of new products and product enhancements, bringing together various constituents within the Company from marketing and sales through to operations, capital markets and servicing
  • Understand the competitive landscape including emerging product trends, competitor strategy / strengths / weaknesses, underserved markets and growth opportunities
  • Develop new product proposals including market size, share potential, loan and channel economics, potential risks, staffing requirements, investor outlets and servicing implications
  • Establish relationships with a broad array of non-agency investor outlets to ensure knowledge of market activity, evolving investor requirements, emerging product opportunities, and competitive market trends.
  • Identify and develop business relationships with other industry participants to create mutually beneficial relationships that enhance profitable growth
  • Develop and maintain a strong awareness of emerging technologies and tools that could profitably enhance our offering
  • Collaborate with others across the organization to understand product needs, shortcomings and opportunities
