Vice President Product Management

OctauraNew York, NY
$200,000 - $230,000Onsite

About The Position

Octaura is a technology company transforming how some of the world’s largest, least digitized markets operate. In loans and CLOs, trillions of dollars still move through phones, emails, and PDFs because the right infrastructure hasn’t existed — until now. We’re applying AI, real-time data, and modern software design to asset classes long overlooked by fintech. Our platforms turn fragmented information into intelligence, manual workflows into automation, and legacy conventions into scalable market infrastructure. You’ll join a high-impact, collaborative team building the systems these markets need to become more transparent, efficient, and connected.

Requirements

  • Proven leadership of product strategy and roadmaps for complex B2B technology products, with the ability to explain the role you personally played in prior product outcomes, what worked, what did not and what you would do differently.
  • Open-mindedness, curiosity and comfort operating in an evolving environment where the product model, structure and ways of working are still being shaped.
  • A practical understanding of GenAI and its likely impact on product management, together with the willingness to help define an AI-enabled product process. Deep technical AI expertise is not required.
  • A strategic, commercially minded product leader who can connect detailed solutioning to a bigger-picture two to three-year direction.
  • Ability to challenge thinking at all levels, promote innovation, creative thinking and genuinely influence the direction of the products, solutions and company.
  • Outstanding client-facing discovery and communication skills, with the judgment to distinguish a requested feature from the underlying problem.
  • Experience leading, coaching and developing Product Managers, and the credibility to build alignment across executive, commercial and technical stakeholders.
  • Strong judgment in making difficult trade-offs, using data and evidence while retaining a bias for practical, real-world solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Financial markets, fintech, electronic trading, capital markets or market-infrastructure experience is valuable but not essential. We welcome transferable experience from technology, pharma and other complex sectors.
  • Product specification experience is helpful, but a lengthy specification-writing track record is not the primary measure of fit.

Responsibilities

  • Own, communicate and deliver the product vision, direction and roadmap, connecting company strategy, client workflows, market developments and competitive insight to a coherent product agenda.
  • Engage directly with clients, prospects and market participants to understand their objectives, gather feedback and identify underlying needs - with a practical bias toward finding ways to solve problems.
  • Help define the future product operating model, including how GenAI can improve discovery, analysis, documentation, decision-making and team effectiveness. This is not an AI-specialist role; it requires informed curiosity and the ability to make GenAI central to the future model.
  • Set a forward-looking two to three-year product direction while making disciplined near-term trade-offs across client value, commercial impact, strategic alignment, delivery effort, risk and supporting data.
  • Lead, coach and develop the Product team, establishing the outcomes, accountabilities and structure needed to deliver the roadmap through a period of significant change.
  • Partner closely with engineering, design, go-to-market teams and executive leadership to turn strategy into clear outcomes, requirements, measures of success and delivered value.
  • Use platform, adoption and performance data to validate outcomes, learn from product decisions and continually improve the roadmap and product investment choices.
  • Represent Product with credibility in senior internal and external discussions, building alignment and constructively challenging assumptions when evidence supports a different priority.
  • Maintain sufficient fluency in product specification and delivery practice to work effectively with teams, while reducing unnecessary emphasis on specification writing in favor of higher-value client-facing discovery and solutioning.
