About The Position

The Vice President Sensor and Latin America Portfolio is responsible for providing strategic leadership, technology vision, and innovative process execution across the sensor platform for water, gas and electric verticals within Communications, Sensors, Software and Services business and Latin America Portfolio at Hubbell Utility Solutions. The individual must understand the technology set, needs of utilities and be commercially driven and be familiarized with service provider technology trends. He or she will develop a mid-to-long-term growth road map for the BU and in line with the overall corporate strategy. The new leader will be tasked with enabling internal collaboration, external partnerships and a fair amount of mergers/acquisitions. This leader will also have a business and strategic mindset to collaborate with other members of the senior management team to drive greater shareholder value. The position will be based in St. Louis, MO or Solon, OH. Travel is expected in Latin America.

  • 10+ years of Commercial Leadership Experience

Responsibilities

  • Develops and contributes to a comprehensive Sensor Platform and Latin America strategy, consistent with their expertise
  • Identifies emerging needs in current and adjacent markets
  • Develops and maintains expertise in potentially feasible growth markets
  • Has keen awareness of product life cycle of current product portfolio
  • Engages in conversations with thought leaders in core and adjacent industries
  • Seeks input from functional partners and executive team to understand all business issues and demands
  • Identifies and develops suitable M & A targets
  • Considers multiple scenarios to best prepare the business for potential changes and possibilities
  • Socializes proposed strategic direction with diverse stakeholders, explaining a compelling "why" and needed actions behind the vision/strategy
  • Establishes meaningful BU metrics and goals that are aligned with enterprise priorities
  • Anticipates the obstacles that may impact the execution of the strategy
  • Develops strategies to expand life cycle of current products
  • Demonstrates appreciation for the value and expertise others provide
  • Executes in partnership with Functional Leaders
  • Considers how decisions may impact others within the matrix
  • Makes decisions based on a solid understanding of finances (e.g. P&L), competitors’ market position and pricing/industry trends, and customer understanding
