Vice President Operations
About The Position
Our client is an advanced manufacturer seeking a Vice President of Operations to join its executive leadership team. This individual will lead manufacturing, supply chain, materials management, and operational strategy while driving productivity, continuous improvement, and long-term business growth. Reporting directly to the President, the Vice President of Operations will oversee all manufacturing operations while developing and executing strategies to improve efficiency, quality, on-time delivery, and overall operational performance. This leader will partner closely with Engineering, Sales, and other cross-functional teams, develop high-performing leaders, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable setting strategic direction and rolling up their sleeves to solve complex operational challenges.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
- Experience leading high-mix, low-volume manufacturing operations within aerospace, defense, or another highly regulated industry.
- Strong background in manufacturing operations, supply chain, materials management, and continuous improvement.
- Experience supporting machining and precision manufacturing environments.
- Proven ability to build high-performing teams, drive operational improvements, and lead organizational change.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and executive presentation skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead manufacturing, supply chain, purchasing, planning, and materials management.
- Develop and execute operational, productivity, and CAPEX initiatives aligned with business objectives.
- Drive key performance metrics including on-time delivery, first-pass yield, inventory, and productivity.
- Partner with Engineering, Sales, and customers to deliver high-quality, manufacturable solutions.
- Build, coach, and develop a high-performing leadership team.
- Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and operational performance.
- Establish operational goals, manage budgets, and monitor business performance.
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
