About The Position

Careficient is seeking a senior-level, hunter-first Vice President of Sales to accelerate growth across the home health, hospice, home care, and palliative care markets. This is a high-impact individual contributor position focused on generating new business, developing strategic relationships, managing complex sales opportunities, and closing revenue-producing deals. The successful candidate will bring substantial healthcare technology sales experience, deep knowledge of the home health and hospice industries, a record of exceeding revenue targets, and an established network of relevant executive relationships. The role owns the full sales process, from prospecting and executive discovery through proposal development, negotiation, and contract execution. The Vice President will build self-sourced pipeline through existing relationships and disciplined outbound activity; advise senior healthcare decision-makers on technology and operational needs; position Careficient’s EMR platform against competitors; and contribute market intelligence to company leadership. Success depends on independently converting industry credibility, relationships, and proactive sales activity into measurable growth, with limited oversight. Careficient provides an integrated EMR platform for home-based care, bringing together clinical documentation, scheduling, billing, revenue cycle management, and operational workflows. The role offers the opportunity to work with senior healthcare executives, collaborate with clinical, implementation, revenue cycle management, and technology professionals, and contribute directly to the company’s market expansion.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of successful B2B sales experience, preferably in healthcare technology, healthcare SaaS, or healthcare software.
  • At least 5 years of direct sales experience in the home health and/or hospice industry.
  • An established network of home health and hospice industry relationships, including relationships with agency owners, CEOs, Presidents, CFOs, COOs, and other purchasing decision-makers.
  • A record of achieving or exceeding significant annual sales quotas.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex, full-cycle sales opportunities with senior executive decision-makers.
  • Documented success generating new business through self-directed prospecting, relationship development, and strategic networking.
  • Ability to negotiate and close substantial healthcare technology agreements.
  • Ability to leverage professional relationships to generate opportunities and demonstrate how those relationships have contributed to measurable sales success.
  • Credibility and professional recognition in the home health and/or hospice community.
  • Ability to initiate meaningful prospective-buyer conversations through professional connections and to expand and maintain a productive network.
  • Familiarity with Medicare reimbursement, clinical documentation, revenue cycle management, compliance challenges, and agency growth strategies.
  • Strong understanding of the competitive EMR landscape and factors that influence agencies to evaluate or replace technology.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience; extensive relevant industry experience and demonstrated sales success will be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience selling EMR, EHR, revenue cycle management, or other mission-critical healthcare technology solutions.
  • Experience selling into multi-location agencies, regional healthcare organizations, or enterprise-level providers.
  • Track record selling EMR/EHR technology to home health and hospice agencies.
  • Experience competing against established home health and hospice software providers and winning competitive displacements.
  • Experience managing larger, complex opportunities involving multiple locations or lines of business.
  • Knowledge of the financial and operational challenges facing home health and hospice providers.
  • Experience selling revenue cycle management, compliance, consulting, or complementary healthcare technology solutions.
  • Established healthcare executive relationships across multiple geographic markets.
  • Stable employment history demonstrating sustained performance, professional growth, and long-term relationship development.
  • Prior experience as a Senior Account Executive, Enterprise Account Executive, Regional Vice President, Area Vice President, or Vice President of Sales.

  • Navigate buying committees across executive leadership, clinical operations, finance, compliance, and information technology.
  • Develop value-based business cases demonstrating potential improvements in operational efficiency, compliance, financial performance, and agency growth.
  • Position Careficient against competing EMR platforms and coordinate presentations, demonstrations, and discussions with internal subject matter experts.
  • Negotiate agreements while maintaining deal profitability and long-term customer value, and advance qualified opportunities to purchasing decisions and contract execution.
