About The Position

Electric Lettuce is a multi-location cannabis retail organization operating 13 stores across Oregon. We are looking for a Vice President of Retail to own retail performance across all locations and drive disciplined execution, revenue growth, and profitability at scale. This role leads all district and store leadership teams and is responsible for ensuring consistent execution, strong operational standards, and high-performance store management across a highly regulated retail environment. The focus is simple: build structure, drive accountability, and deliver results. This is a hands-on executive role requiring strong financial acumen, multi-unit retail leadership experience, and the ability to lead through others. The right candidate has a proven track record of improving store performance, strengthening leadership teams, and scaling retail operations. This leader will partner closely with merchandising, marketing, purchasing, finance, and HR to ensure execution aligns with business strategy. Cannabis retail experience is helpful but not required.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • OLCC Marijuana Worker Permit required
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between store locations regularly
  • Portland metro-based with travel to Electric Lettuce locations, including Eugene
  • Ability to work in retail store environments across multiple locations
  • Ability to stand, walk, and conduct store walkthroughs for extended periods
  • Ability to remain focused in a fast-paced, multi-location environment
  • Ability to participate in in-person meetings and operational reviews

Nice To Haves

  • Cannabis retail experience is helpful but not required.
  • Corporate retail experience preferred (specialty, big-box, grocery, QSR, etc.).
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead operations across 13 Electric Lettuce retail locations
  • Directly manage District Managers and oversee store leadership teams
  • Set clear operational standards and drive consistent execution across all stores
  • Hold leaders accountable for performance, execution, and results
  • Own full retail P&L across all locations
  • Partner with Finance on performance tracking, forecasting, and decision-making
  • Drive revenue growth, margin improvement, and profitability initiatives
  • Monitor KPIs and take corrective action when performance gaps arise
  • Build and execute strategies to grow same-store sales and total retail revenue
  • Partner with merchandising and marketing to optimize product mix and promotions
  • Ensure consistent execution of revenue-driving initiatives across all stores
  • Partner with purchasing and merchandising on assortment and inventory strategy
  • Align inventory levels with demand and financial targets
  • Evaluate product and vendor performance to support profitability
  • Oversee labor strategy, scheduling standards, and productivity targets
  • Ensure labor models align with revenue expectations and store needs
  • Develop District Managers and store leaders to strengthen leadership bench
  • Partner with marketing to ensure consistent execution of promotions in-store
  • Align campaign strategy with store-level execution and performance goals
  • Build a high-performance, accountability-driven retail culture
  • Coach and develop District Managers and store leaders
  • Strengthen leadership pipeline and succession planning across retail
