About The Position

The Vice President of Operations for the Northeast region leads and oversees operational activities across transportation and warehousing, with responsibility for efficiency, safety, and profitability. The role drives continuous improvement, optimizes supply chain processes, and aligns operational goals with the broader corporate vision.

This executive position manages large teams, promotes collaboration across departments, and maintains relationships with key clients and stakeholders. It also oversees budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation to meet regional performance targets and sustain competitive advantage while delivering exceptional service.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in transportation, warehousing, or logistics operations.
• Proven track record of managing large teams and complex operations within the transportation and warehousing industry.
• Strong knowledge of industry regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic operational plans that drive business growth.
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical, strategic thinking, problem-solving, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
• Expertise in logistics and supply chain management software.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related discipline.
• Experience working in or managing operations within the Northeast United States region.
• Familiarity with advanced logistics software, warehouse management systems (WMS), and transportation management systems (TMS).
• Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement certification.
• Experience managing multimodal transportation networks and large-scale distribution centers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement operational strategies that enhance productivity and service quality across the Northeast region.
• Lead, mentor, and manage regional operations teams, including warehouse managers, logistics coordinators, and transportation supervisors.
• Oversee compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with sales, finance, and customer service departments to align operational activities with business objectives and customer expectations.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Manage budgeting, cost control, and capital expenditure planning to optimize financial performance.
• Drive technology adoption and process automation to improve operational efficiency and data accuracy.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, partners, and regulatory agencies to support seamless operations.
