About The Position

Genesis Products is hiring a company-wide Vice President of Operations to lead and strengthen the systems, standards, and accountability that enable its manufacturing operations to perform and adapt. The role is based at Plant 8 in Goshen, Indiana, and reports to the President & CEO. The VP of Operations will be Genesis’s senior manufacturing leader and go-to problem solver, with direct responsibility for safety, logistics, warehouse excellence, and continuous improvement. The position has direct reports and may take on manufacturing HR as it grows.

Plants report through operations managers to business group VPs, who remain close to customers and make daily operating decisions. The VP of Operations will lead through influence: designing systems, coaching plant teams to use them, and ensuring standards are maintained. The role spans Genesis’s plants, warehouse, managed fleet, and proprietary in-house MRP platform. Genesis Products is a multi-plant manufacturer with 14 plants and 900 employees, serving the RV, Kitchen & Bath, Fleet & Heavy Vehicle, and Commercial markets.

Requirements

• Significant manufacturing leadership experience, including running a plant and leading operational excellence or operations across multiple sites.
• A measurable, lasting track record of turnarounds, launches, or integrations.
• Deep experience in high-mix, customer-driven manufacturing where demand and specifications change frequently.
• Hands-on fluency in continuous improvement, quality systems, and safety leadership.
• Digital fluency connecting physical process changes to software changes, writing clear requirements, and gaining adoption of tools by floor teams.
• Ability to build on existing systems, learn why they work, and improve them rather than replacing them simply to make a mark.
• Ability to lead through influence and gain adoption of standards from plant teams who do not report directly to the role.
• Ability to balance customer responsiveness with speaking up when shortcuts become habitual.
• Willingness to work hands-on in plants and stay engaged until solutions work.
• Ability to develop plant leaders and leave them more capable.

Responsibilities

• Own safety policy and accountability across every site, and make safety performance measurable, visible, and consistently owned.
• Lead quality and operational excellence systems and the monthly audit process; ensure audit findings result in lasting improvement.
• Design physical and digital systems to support rapidly changing customer demand, including changeovers, flexible staffing, scheduling, and effective use of the in-house MRP platform.
• Translate shop-floor problems into clear system and software requirements, and support implementation and adoption.
• Partner with business group teams to diagnose and turn around underperforming plants through structured, urgent, hands-on problem solving.
• Lead the start-up of major new operations and redesign existing operations, including layout, workflow, people, and processes.
• Integrate and onboard acquired operations with executive leadership and the CFO, adopting Genesis systems and standards while maintaining customer service.
• Develop a repeatable playbook for acquisition integration.
• Improve warehouse organization, barcoding, tracking, and inventory accuracy.
• Lead logistics and the managed fleet, and expand logistics beyond Elkhart.
• Coach and challenge plant and operations leaders to adopt standards and improve their capabilities.
