About The Position

Vice President of Finance. If you’re a hands-on finance leader who wants to be in the business—not just report on it—this is that role. Jack Laurie Group is looking for a Vice President of Finance to take ownership of our financial function and help drive the business forward. This is not a corporate, sit-back executive position. We’re looking for someone who wants to get in the trenches, work alongside the team, and use financial insight to create a real competitive advantage. You’ll report directly to the President and play a key role in how the company operates, performs, and grows.

Requirements

Experience in a privately held, mid-sized company
Background as a Controller, Director of Finance, or similar leadership role
Strong understanding of construction or operational finance (job costing is key)
Experience working closely with operations and purchasing teams
Proven ability to lead a team and hold people accountable
Someone who communicates clearly and isn’t afraid to speak up

Responsibilities

Own the day-to-day financial operations and reporting
Turn numbers into clear, actionable insights for leadership
Partner with operations to improve job costing, margins, and performance
Drive accountability across the business through simple, effective scorecards
Work closely with purchasing and procurement to control costs and improve efficiency
Lead and develop the finance team while setting the standard for accountability
Take ownership of cash flow, cost control, and overall financial performance
