About The Position

Jack Laurie Group is seeking a hands-on Vice President of Finance to take ownership of the company's financial function and drive business growth. This is an active, "in the trenches" role, not a passive executive position, focused on using financial insights to create a competitive advantage. The Vice President of Finance will report directly to the President and significantly influence the company's operations, performance, and growth strategies.

Requirements

  • Experience in a privately held, mid-sized company
  • Background as a Controller, Director of Finance, or similar leadership role
  • Strong understanding of construction or operational finance (job costing is key)
  • Experience working closely with operations and purchasing teams
  • Proven ability to lead a team and hold people accountable
  • Communicates clearly and isn’t afraid to speak up

Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day financial operations and reporting
  • Turn numbers into clear, actionable insights for leadership
  • Partner with operations to improve job costing, margins, and performance
  • Drive accountability across the business through simple, effective scorecards
  • Work closely with purchasing and procurement to control costs and improve efficiency
  • Lead and develop the finance team while setting the standard for accountability
  • Take ownership of cash flow, cost control, and overall financial performance

Benefits
