Vice President of Finance & Accounting

National Painting Group•Fort Collins, CO
•$165,000 - $195,000•Hybrid

About The Position

National Painting Group is hiring a Vice President of Finance & Accounting to take over its accounting and finance function, bring accounting in-house, and build the infrastructure, workflows, AI, and processes that support the holding company and its portfolio of painting businesses. The group currently co-owns 15 companies, has additional acquisitions in process, and plans to continue growing. The portfolio companies use the same accounting system and model, allowing processes established at one company to be adopted across the group. The role owns portfolio accounting, books, close, reconciliations, audits, clean and audit-ready financials, and timely filings. It will standardize the chart of accounts and Accounting Seed setup, implement systems across portfolio companies, and build AI-enabled automation for close, reconciliations—including CRM-to-books—and reporting. The position also manages National Painting Group’s budget, cash flow, buy-ins, accounts receivable, accounts payable, distributions, and valuations; builds dashboards for individual partners and consolidated portfolio reporting; leads internal team members and outside tax vendors; and coaches partners on interpreting financial statements, margins, and cash flow. The expected ramp is to learn the full setup and begin taking over accounting within the first 30 days; bring portfolio accounting in-house on AI-enabled systems by day 90; and, by month 12, have a common system and live dashboard for every company, with the function scaling as the portfolio grows without expanding the team. The position reports through a handoff with the current function lead and offers a potential path to CFO as the portfolio grows. This is a full-time, hybrid role in Colorado, working in person with the team in the Fort Collins-to-Colorado Springs corridor. The company describes a high-accountability, autonomous, development-oriented culture focused on performance rather than hours, and says it does not expect hustle culture or 60-hour workweeks. The target start is early January 2027.
