About The Position

Lead accounting operations for a fast-growing, private-equity-backed infrastructure services platform in the Midwest. This role offers the opportunity to build scalable accounting hubs and drive post-acquisition integration across a growing, multi-location organization. The company is scaling revenue from $270M to $500M through an aggressive acquisition pipeline and significant M&A activity. The Vice President of Accounting will lead the transformation and build-out of centralized accounting infrastructure across multiple locations, establish standards, and create playbooks for current and future regional controllers.

Requirements

• Deep hands-on knowledge of construction accounting, especially work-in-process and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition, to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.
• Proven experience in a private-equity-backed environment managing multiple locations with a shared-services model.
• Experience driving standardization and controls and collaborating effectively with sponsors and lenders.
• Ability to architect and implement standardized processes across a growing, multi-location platform.
• Ability to develop and influence a diverse team and provide practical, hands-on guidance without micromanaging.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting teams across multiple states, standardizing processes and ensuring consistent financial reporting across the portfolio.
• Manage month-end close and quarterly and annual reporting cycles, ensuring GAAP compliance and addressing ASC 606 revenue-recognition complexity.
• Lead and mentor regional controllers and accounting teams, building a strong finance leadership bench through talent assessment and development.
• Lead accounting integration for acquisitions, aligning systems, controls, and processes to support growth and scalability.
• Support CFO-level activities, including lender and sponsor management, cash-flow oversight, and strategic financial planning to support growth toward $500M+ in revenue.
