About The Position

The Vice President of Facilities oversees all construction projects, capital project contractors, facilities, and construction vendor management agreements. This role coordinates and directs the Planning Committee for all construction projects, analyzes and appraises scope, budgets, and building plans, and provides analysis of current contracts, vendors, and budgets to ensure efficiencies are identified and maintained. The position also oversees all electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and structural contractors and systems for Magnifi Financial.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities or Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Eight years of progressively responsible facilities maintenance/construction experience.
  • Eight years progressively responsible supervisory/management experience.
  • Must be bondable.
  • Valid Driver’s license and auto insurance with minimum liability limits within Magnifi Financial policy.
  • Requires regular travel to and onsite presence at various organizational locations to evaluate facility needs, procurement practices, vendor and contractor performance, and the proper use of resources and expenditures.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and manages new construction and renovation projects and contractors.
  • Oversees the selection and performance of architects, engineers, and contractors.
  • Estimates work, reviews estimates/bids, and makes recommendations on vendor selection, materials, and techniques.
  • Ensures a competitive bidding process for the best product and cost.
  • Completes performance reviews of contractors for accuracy and reasonableness before submission to Executive Management.
  • Directs contracted projects to verify adherence to specifications.
  • Serves on the Planning Committee for new locations, buildings, mergers, acquisitions, etc.
  • Provides details, analysis, recommendations, and status updates to Executive Management.
  • Identifies potential land acquisition targets through detailed studies and networks with professionals involved in commercial land development.
  • Coordinates land acquisitions with buyers, sellers, and the legal team to ensure permitting viability and necessary easements, and oversees negotiations for land development.
  • Analyzes current procurement practices and makes recommendations for improvement regarding contractors, vendors, locations, buildings, leased locations, and other purchasing practices.
  • Designs 3D building models and templates for future expansion while working with multiple departments.
  • Develops and manages the budget and monthly rolling forecast for all structure/grounds/equipment needs.
  • Develops preliminary budgets on all construction projects and provides budget analysis to the executive team.
  • Approves General Contractor invoicing submissions for accuracy during construction projects.
  • Effectively communicates and manages project expectations and success criteria to project sponsors, team members, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Acts as a liaison between management, departments, vendors, stakeholders, and project teams.
  • Develops a framework for actionable and targeted organizational project and change management plans and processes.
  • Develops processes and procedures for project management for the entire organization.
  • Estimates and identifies resources (time and cost/return) and participants needed to achieve project goals, and assigns and manages individual responsibilities.
  • Analyzes vendor contracts to ensure efficiencies are identified and maintained.
  • Formulates and recommends policy and procedure changes related to facilities management.
  • Works with executives to approve policies and procedures that may have an organization-wide effect.
  • Oversees all electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and structural systems in and outside the facilities.
  • Oversees both internal personnel and vendors to accomplish facilities and construction maintenance.
  • Provides regular on-site oversight and visits to ensure facilities are kept up-to-date with building codes and maintenance is completed in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for purchasing building equipment, machinery, and supplies.
  • Coordinates with branches to maintain interior, exterior, heating and cooling sources, and grounds of buildings and foreclosed properties.
  • Oversees performance of safety and security systems by managing evaluations of internal and external physical structures, including safety equipment.
  • Evaluates, recommends, communicates, and implements safety and security results and initiatives.
  • Supports the strategic planning process through departmental planning and participates in organizational level strategic planning.
  • Aligns departmental initiatives with business direction.
  • Directs facilities and construction management efforts to ensure Magnifi Financial meets its strategic goals and objectives while minimizing risk.
  • Oversees the development, implementation, and monitoring of environmental strategies that promote sustainable development.
  • Develops, plans, tracks, and analyzes strategic, complex, and high-risk projects.
  • Oversees project sponsors to define project success criteria, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Directs the project list and provides project portfolio updates and recommendations on project resourcing to Management.
  • Identifies project dependencies and critical paths.
  • Oversees multiple, concurrent departmental, organizational, and strategic projects from beginning to end.
  • Monitors performance and progress against documented objectives, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Oversees development, training, and management of the performance and compensation of direct and indirect staff.
  • Approves hiring decisions, and delivers performance reviews and compensation for staff.
  • Responsible for Facilities and Construction results achieved through successful management of staff.
  • Provides departmental long-term strategies for future growth and development within the department.
  • Participates and directs work groups and/or committees.
  • Works in collaboration with executives, vice presidents, management, and staff to meet goals and objectives.
  • Collaborates to develop and implement branch planning strategies.
  • Inspires and leads the organization through strategic relationships with management resulting in conceptualization, development, execution, and evaluation of innovative sustainability programs.
  • Provides leadership to community relations efforts, serving as a key ambassador for Magnifi Financial.
  • Interacts with key members of the industry and communities served.
  • Projects a positive image in the field of membership and with current and prospective members.
