About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Vice President of Operations to lead a large, multi-state K-12 Facilities Management portfolio. This executive will oversee approximately 30 client accounts, $130–$140M in managed volume, and 10 direct reports. The role is responsible for operational excellence, client relationships, financial performance, growth, safety, talent development, succession planning, and strategic execution across a geographically dispersed organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of management experience and 10+ years of related experience.
  • Significant leadership experience in Facilities Management / Facilities Operations.
  • VP-level or comparable experience leading complex multi-location, multi-state, or national operations.
  • Experience leading large, cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Demonstrated success in operational excellence, strategic execution, and long-term growth.
  • Strong executive presence and client relationship management skills.
  • Proven experience in talent development, succession planning, and building high-performing teams.
  • Data-driven approach to operational and performance management.
  • Ability to travel approximately 50% nationally.

Nice To Haves

  • K-12, education, or other complex institutional Facilities Management experience.
  • Responsibility for a large multi-account facilities portfolio.
  • Experience with financial performance, client retention, and business growth.
  • Experience leading organizations through transformation and continuous improvement.
  • Prior experience with an outsourced Facilities Management provider is not required. Candidates must, however, demonstrate substantial executive-level leadership of complex, multi-location Facilities Management operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex, multi-site Facilities Management operations across a national footprint.
  • Drive operational excellence, financial performance, safety, client satisfaction, and growth.
  • Lead and develop approximately 10 direct reports and broader cross-functional teams.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and support client retention and account growth.
  • Lead talent development, succession planning, workforce planning, and performance management.
  • Guide teams through growth, change, and organizational transformation.
  • Use KPIs, dashboards, and operational data to improve performance and decision-making.
  • Drive continuous improvement, accountability, and consistent service delivery across approximately 30 accounts.
