The Baltimore Community Foundation (BCF) is seeking a Vice President of Advancement to work closely with the President/CEO to align operations and strategic priorities and to garner support for BCF’s ambitious goals benefiting the Baltimore community. The Vice President of Advancement will be primarily responsible for structuring, implementing, and monitoring an effective development and stewardship operation. This includes soliciting gifts for new philanthropic funds, driving and managing development and donor services related operations, launching a philanthropic advisory, overseeing BCF’s annual Civic Leadership Fund, generating legacy gifts, growing BCF’s discretionary endowment, and overseeing strategies to engage donors and prospects at every level. The success of this role involves both internal management and external responsibilities across several key areas: Philanthropic Advising and Fundraising (35%), Leadership and Strategy (25%), Development Systems and Infrastructure (15%), Management and Administration (15%), and Cross-Departmental Alignment and Execution (10%). BCF is a philanthropic foundation with assets over $350 million, comprised of more than 950 charitable funds, and has granted nearly $800 million since its inception in 1972. With a team of less than 25 core staff members, BCF embraces reliability, hard-work, fun, and accountability. Over the last several years, BCF has doubled its assets under management and has elevated its role as one of the region’s most prominent civic leaders, grantors, and impact investors. In anticipation of the launch of its new strategic direction in 2027, BCF is poised for greater growth and impact.
