About The Position

The Director of Accounting & FP&A provides strategic leadership for both the accounting and financial planning & analysis functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust forecasting, and forward-looking financial strategy that supports organizational goals. This role partners with executive leadership to inform decision-making, manages cross-functional teams, and drives continuous improvement in financial operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting and/or FP&A experience, with at least 3–5 years in leadership roles.
  • CPA, CMA, or equivalent strongly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial systems, ERP software, and reporting tools.
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to translate complex financial data into clear recommendations for senior leadership.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare finance or multi-location operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the accounting team to ensure timely and accurate financial close, general ledger maintenance, and month-end reporting.
  • Establish and enforce strong internal controls, accounting policies, and compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll coordination, and financial systems integration.
  • Lead the development, coordination, and execution of annual operating budgets, long-range financial plans, and rolling forecasts.
  • Drive advanced financial modeling, scenario analysis, and performance tracking to provide actionable insights to leadership.
  • Partner with department heads to assess financial trends, key performance indicators (KPIs), and strategic initiatives.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations and reporting to support strategic planning and investment decisions.
  • Mentor, develop, and manage accounting and finance team members to build high-performance capability.
  • Support audit processes (internal/external) and tax compliance efforts.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior executives on financial performance, risks, and opportunities.
  • Enhance financial systems, dashboards, and reporting tools to improve data reliability and decision support.
