About The Position

Inizio Evoke Comms is a global, award-winning health communications agency partnering with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medtech, consumer, and non-profit clients to deliver insights-driven public relations, policy, and communications programs that advance health and wellbeing worldwide. As VP, Integrated Comms Strategy, you will support new business growth and drive strategic initiatives across key client organic opportunities. You will be focused on shaping work at the front end of engagements. You will focus on defining the problem, developing the brief, facilitating workshops, and partnering with creative, specialty, and account teams. The goal is to unlock earned-first ideas that can grow into larger programs. You will play a central role in both new business and organic growth, helping teams and clients get to sharper, more creative thinking, faster. You will be tracking culture, media trends and the evolving healthcare landscape—and translating those shifts into relevant, forward-looking strategy. This includes staying current on emerging technologies, including AI, and applying them to strengthen insight development, ideation, and strategic output. This is a remote role reporting the EVP Growth & Innovation.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in communications strategy
  • Experience in healthcare, biotech, or pharmaceutical communications required
  • Experience with patient, caregiver, and HCP audiences
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or leading new business and pitch strategy
  • Experience developing creative briefs and facilitating workshops with clients and internal teams
  • Storytelling and presentation skills
  • Experience working across integrated communications (earned, social, digital, paid)
  • Knowledge to connect cultural trends, media shifts, and emerging technologies (including AI) to strategy
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work across departments

Responsibilities

  • Support New Business & Organic Growth: Lead strategy development for pitches and proposals, from opportunity framing through final narrative. Partner with account leads to identify and shape organic growth opportunities within existing clients. Define positioning, messaging and strategic approach for new opportunities. Build compelling storylines that differentiate our thinking and strengthen win potential.
  • Lead Early-Stage Strategy Development: Develop briefs that define the problem, audience, insight, and opportunity. Facilitate client and internal workshops to agree on strategy and unlock new thinking. Summarize inputs into clear, actionable strategic direction for communications. Bring structure and clarity to ambiguous or undefined client challenges.
  • Drive Earned-First Ideation: Partner with creative, earned media, social/influencer and integrated teams to produce ideas grounded in insight. Ensure ideas are culturally relevant, executable, and aligned to communications goals. Push teams to think beyond expected approaches and unlock more distinctive, earned-led concepts.
  • Turn Insight into Action: Analyze research, data, and market dynamics to identify meaningful insights. Translate clinical, cultural, and competitive inputs into clear strategic actions. Identify whitespace and opportunities for differentiation.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work with account, creative, digital, social, influencer, and analytics teams. Contribute to creative briefs and ensure strategy is carried into execution. Be the connector across departments to ensure understanding and momentum.
  • Contribute to Strategic Excellence: Help enhance how strategy shows up across new business and early-stage work. Share frameworks, tools, and ways of working that improve speed and quality. Apply AI and latest tools to enhance insight generation, workshop development and ideation.
