About The Position

Equity Capital Markets (ECM) originates, advises, structures, and executes equity and equity-linked offerings for corporates and financial sponsors. ECM sits at the intersection of Evercore’s investment banking advisory business and the Evercore ISI research / sales & trading business. ECM’s activities include IPOs, follow-ons, convertible/derivative strategies, as well as other equity-adjacent advisory work around capital structure analysis and M&A. Evercore seeks to hire an experienced Vice President [or Director] with ECM-specific experience for its team located in New York City. The role will be focused on covering clients in the Healthcare sectors.

Requirements

  • Vice Presidents in ECM play a vital role in the building of Evercore’s underwriting business.
  • Vice Presidents are responsible for generating new ideas and business opportunities, executing live opportunities and building client relationships.
  • We are looking for excited, creative, team-oriented, organized, and resourceful multi-taskers with high intellectual curiosity and the long-term orientation to build the premier independent ECM franchise.
  • Evercore’s ECM business is growing – the candidate should be entrepreneurial and embrace a rapidly changing environment.
  • Candidates should already be a Vice President or Director in Equity Capital Markets with 6+ years of investment banking experience post-BA or 3+years of investment banking experience post-MBA.

Responsibilities

  • Executing equity offerings, driving process from start to finish
  • Originating new business
  • Leading junior team, providing guidance, oversight and managing team workflow
  • Driving pitch materials, analysis and content
  • Identifying and targeting new business opportunities
  • Maintain real-time capital market knowledge and macro and microeconomic themes that drive equity markets and investor sentiment
  • Developing equity offering strategies and appropriately communicating and advising corporate clients
  • Shaping positioning and valuation strategies for companies as they market themselves to public investors
  • Developing and maintaining institutional investor relationships that can be leveraged to market transactions and provide client feedback in deal and non-deal settings
  • Active communication with industry teams and other product team partners
  • Building relationships with clients
  • Supporting senior bankers on equity transaction execution and new business origination
