Vice President, FP&A - Retail
About The Position
The Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis – Front Store provides comprehensive financial support to CVS Health’s $20B+ Retail Business, with leadership over front-store sales and margin financial planning and analysis. The role partners with senior leaders across Retail Field & Store Operations, Merchandising, Finance, and Operations to set strategic goals, improve organizational effectiveness, and manage financial results. The position leads annual budgeting, monthly forecasting and close, and detailed variance analysis. It also supports strategic planning, financial integrity of completed projects, and business decisions through complex financial analysis and periodic reporting to senior management. The VP leads and develops a large finance and financial operations organization, drives change and operational efficiency, and promotes a high-performance, engaging culture. Hub offices are preferred; remote work with travel as needed is also an option. Travel is 25% or more, with variability based on location.
Requirements
- 15 or more years of related financial management experience.
- Experience in strategic and operations planning and financial analysis in a pharmacy, healthcare, or retail business.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams in an executive role.
- Experience supporting a significant P&L.
- Experience leading a large and complex organization.
- Extensive change management experience.
- Proven experience developing and executing financial strategies in a matrix operating model.
- Demonstrated financial analytics experience.
- Ability to translate financial results and metrics into clear, concise, actionable narratives that influence strategic planning and business decisions.
- Ability to identify improvement opportunities and drive changes to improve efficiency, effectiveness, quality, and alignment of priorities and results.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Travel of 25% or more, with variability based on location.

Responsibilities
- Lead front-store sales and margin financial planning and analysis for the Retail Business.
- Lead annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, monthly financial close support, and detailed variance analysis.
- Provide multi-variable and complex financial analysis to support business decisions, productivity improvements, and cost savings.
- Help set strategic goals, improve organizational effectiveness, and manage financial results.
- Lead change within the finance organization to support evolving pharmacy operations.
- Acquire talent, mentor team members, and build and maintain a high-performance culture.
- Implement technology to improve operational efficiency, reporting, and decision-making visibility.
- Lead and motivate a large and complex finance and financial operations organization, focusing on outcomes, engagement, and talent development.
- Assist with strategic planning to align reporting to the company's five-year strategic plan and maintain financial integrity of projects after completion.
- Prepare and present periodic reporting packages to senior management for decision-making.
- Set standards for integrity, accountability, and achieving results.
