Vice President, FP&A

Huntress
•$280,000 - $340,000•Remote

About The Position

Huntress is a remote-first team founded in 2015 by former NSA cyber operators, dedicated to making enterprise-grade cybersecurity accessible to businesses of all sizes. We partner with security teams and service providers to protect complex environments, leveraging in-house technology and a 24/7 human-led Security Operations Center (SOC). Our platform currently secures over 5 million endpoints and 16 million identities globally, with continuous growth driven by increasing business reliance on our solutions for enhanced security and confidence. This role is crucial in leading the financial strategy for a high-growth business, acting as a key partner to the CFO and Executive Team. The position involves owning strategic planning, translating growth and efficiency drivers into actionable recommendations, and shaping the company's financial narrative. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, clear communication abilities, and sound judgment to effectively influence outcomes without overcomplicating processes. This role requires taking ownership of the FP&A operating layer, including sales compensation, and driving improvements. Building trusted partnerships with Go-To-Market (GTM), Product, and functional leaders is essential, transforming data into understandable insights that drive action. The role emphasizes surfacing critical information early, challenging leaders with evidence, and developing a high-performing team. Modernizing planning and forecasting with AI, while maintaining trustworthy data through robust controls, is a key objective. The position demands a Warrior Spirit to navigate forecast misses and changing conditions, remaining Outcome-Obsessed by measuring success through improved decision-making, disciplined planning, and a scalable finance function.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive FP&A or Strategic Finance leadership in high-growth SaaS, including building and scaling multi-level teams.
  • Analytical storyteller: a track record of turning complex financials into a clear narrative for executives, boards, and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Trusted influencer: you build relationships across the organization, give candid input, and challenge senior leaders with evidence and care.
  • Talent builder: you develop leaders, not just analysts, and have built engaged, high-performing teams.
  • Sound judgment in ambiguous, fast-changing environments, with a bias for finding and implementing improvements.
  • Strong command of enterprise planning systems, BI/visualization tools, and AI-enabled workflows, applied with verification, confidentiality, and control.

Responsibilities

  • Own strategic financial planning both near and long term. Identify the drivers of growth, efficiency, and cash, and turn them into recommendations the Executive Team can act upon.
  • Serve as a key voice to the Executive Team. Shape the company's financial narrative across reporting, investor relations, and fundraising, and act as a close partner to the CFO.
  • Partner with GTM, Product, and functional leaders to turn data into insights non-finance leaders understand and act on, and to challenge them with evidence when needed.
  • Lead scenario modeling, sensitivity analysis, and investment cases for major decisions. Apply the right depth to each: go deep when precision changes the answer and move fast when it doesn't.
  • Build and scale the FP&A team and operating model, including talent development, succession readiness, governance, and controls. Keep what works and redesign what doesn't.
  • Redesign forecasting, planning, variance, and reporting workflows with AI, with controls that validate outputs and protect confidential data.
  • Oversee sales compensation administration so incentive plans align with company goals and are executed accurately.
