About The Position

The Vice President for Finance will manage an existing team of directors and will continue to recruit, train, develop, and manage a team to continue to accomplish the university’s goals. The Vice President for Finance reports to the President and serves as chief financial officer and treasurer of the Institution. In carrying out board duties, the Vice President for Finance shall: Provide leadership in the development and implementation of board policies relating to all business and financial matters. Serve as financial advisor to the President and the Board of Trustees. Directly supervise various University Directors and personnel in the following areas: Accounting/Finance, Human Resources, Technology Services and Media Services. Be responsible for creating the operating systems needed for the orderly operation of the institution. Serve as a member of the University Administrative Council and perform duties as directed by the President of the University. The Vice President for Finance will oversee the following functional areas of the Finance and Management Division: Contracts Review and Management, Endowment, Investments and Restricted Funds Oversight, Financial Policies and Procedures, University Budgets, Internal Controls and Audit, Financial Accounting and Reporting, Insurance Procurement / Claims Administration / Risk Management, Real Property Acquisitions / Management, Oil & Gas Minerals / Surface Acreage Coordination, Estates Monitoring/ Transfers, and Full Financial Services for Affiliated Entities - accounting, banking, investments, accounts payable, hiring, payroll, benefits, insurance procurement, reporting, audit coordination, Form 990 preparation, and Supporting foundations.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree earned at a regionally accredited institution in business, finance or a related field and/or C.P.A. is required.
  • Minimum of ten or more years of financial leadership experience in the field of higher education required.
  • Certified Public Account (C.P.A.) required.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Class C Driver’s License and maintain a clear driving record to be insurable under the university liability policy.
  • Must be able to drive to complete work assignments on and off campus, as needed.
