About The Position

The Vice President of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting leads the financial reporting and technical accounting across MGM Resorts International's global portfolio. This role is accountable for ensuring high‑quality, timely, and accurate financial reporting and for the support of technical accounting across the enterprise. The Vice President reports to the Senior Vice President of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting and partners with Accounting, Finance, Legal, and executive stakeholders, as well as internal and external auditors, to drive compliant, efficient, and quality accounting outcomes. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in technical accounting and SEC reporting, ideally within a multinational public company environment
  • 6+ years of experience in audit or accounting consulting
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Deep expertise in GAAP, SEC regulations, technical accounting research, and internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR)
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to guide teams, influence stakeholders, and drive accurate, compliant financial reporting in a complex organization

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical accounting support across the enterprise and coordinate with domestic and global subsidiaries to align accounting analysis, considerations, and conclusions as well as reporting impacts
  • Provide guidance and draft accounting position papers and memos on complex transactions such as joint ventures, consolidation analyses, leasing, equity‑based compensation, derivatives, business combinations, and fair value measurements
  • Serve as the accounting resource for M&A activities and capital market transactions
  • Lead the interpretation and assessment of accounting impacts for U.S. GAAP and IFRS differences
  • Oversee and drive the adoption of new US GAAP accounting standards and application of accounting policies
  • Oversee and lead periodic filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission
  • Provide audit support through coordination with external auditors, maintaining accountability for audit outcomes, resolution of judgmental issues, and alignment on technical positions
