About The Position

The Vice President of Finance is a key strategic leader who partners closely with the Chief Financial Officer to drive Goodwill Southeast Georgia’s financial vision, strengthen operational excellence, and ensure long-term fiscal health. This role oversees all financial planning, reporting, accounting, and treasury functions while supporting executive leadership with data-driven insights that guide strategic decision-making and organizational growth. As the leader of the accounting function, the Vice President of Finance ensures strong financial controls, scalable systems, and a high-performing team that delivers accurate, timely, and actionable financial information. This role serves as the primary backup to the CFO and is a critical part of the organization’s long-term succession planning, building leadership capability and organizational knowledge to support future advancement. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Ten (10) or more years of progressive financial leadership experience, including oversight of accounting and FP&A functions.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic planning, financial modeling, and executive-level decision support.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and corporate governance.
  • Extensive experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and business intelligence tools.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to be insured under company insurance policy.
  • General office environment with occasional travel to retail and operational locations.
  • Ability to attend conferences, leadership meetings, and organizational events.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA and/or CPA strongly preferred.
  • Experience in retail and/or manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise financial planning, forecasting, and modeling to support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Develop advanced financial models and scenario analyses to inform business strategy.
  • Partner with executive leadership to evaluate financial performance and identify growth opportunities.
  • Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, financial reporting, and compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data, reporting systems, and internal controls.
  • Deliver timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with clear insights and recommendations.
  • Lead variance analysis and provide actionable insights to leadership.
  • Serve as primary liaison to external auditors and coordinate all audit activities.
  • Strengthen internal controls, data governance, and audit readiness across all financial systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, grant requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting efforts.
  • Partner with division leaders to monitor performance and address variances.
  • Oversee financial reporting for grants, programs, and funding sources to ensure alignment with budgets.
  • Optimize financial systems (ERP and reporting tools) to improve efficiency, automation, and scalability.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial operations and communication.
  • Analyze operations for cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies.
  • Manage organizational cash flow forecasting and financial sustainability.
  • Collaborate with division leaders to evaluate program financial performance and effectiveness.
  • Support finance-related board engagement, including audit and finance committee reporting.
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting and finance team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Strengthen internal communication and promote a positive, mission-aligned work environment.
