Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or related field required.
  • Six years of experience working in a financial analysis role required.
  • Five years of experience evaluating direct private investments required.
  • Three years of investment banking or management consulting experience required.
  • Five years of experience performing LBO (leveraged buyout) and M&A modeling and company valuations, including discounted cash flow and comparable company analyses, required.
  • Five years of experience drafting investment memorandum and investment theses required.
  • Three years of experience participating in sales related activities required.
  • Three years of experience leading teams in the execution of projects and/or investment processes required.
  • One year of experience working in deal and relationship management platforms including DealCloud required.
  • One year of experience working with Bloomberg, Reuters, or other financial information systems required.
  • Knowledge of investment principles, financial markets, and economic conditions required.
  • Domestic travel required up to 10%.
  • Required to be in office 4 days/week.
  • Must have legal authority to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the full life cycle of private equity direct and co-investments, from evaluating investment opportunities through monitoring and exiting investments.
  • As part of the Direct Equity group, work on deal teams to drive the investment process.
  • Work with the leaders of the Direct Equity Team to drive the strategy, growth, and evolution of the platform.
  • Manage and execute deal processes from the sourcing stage to closing/funding.
  • Source and evaluate prospective investments by assessing key risks/merits and developing cogent investment theses.
  • Guide the team to perform thorough investment and business due diligence to determine risk/reward profiles of direct equity investment opportunities.
  • Perform rigorous financial analyses to support investment decisions, including valuation, structure, and returns.
  • Prepare Investment Committee memoranda and present recommendations.
  • Mentor the team while promoting collaboration across the global platform.
  • Contribute to the ongoing management of investments to enhance value across the portfolio.
  • Contribute to pursuing creative and optimal exit strategies to maximize returns.
  • Keep abreast of the competitive landscape and current trends across private equity and other private markets.
  • Leverage General Partner relationships to source direct equity opportunities in the Americas.
  • Act as a resource to the Client Solutions Team and participate in client, investor, and fundraising meetings.
