United Way of the National Capital Area (NCA) is seeking a driven and passionate Vice President, Development and Philanthropy to lead efforts in securing, maintaining, and growing philanthropic funding. This role is responsible for the strategic direction, development, implementation, and expansion of the organization’s diverse fundraising channels, focusing on retaining and increasing revenue and attracting multi-year commitments. The position involves soliciting philanthropic support from corporations, foundations, and individual donors, managing all aspects of the organization’s resource development and fundraising plans, and stewarding a personal portfolio of high-value donors and philanthropic partners. The Vice President will establish and maintain superior donor pipelines, donor relations, and a balanced mix of donor sources and fundraising programs. This role is crucial for meeting and exceeding measurable revenue goals through various channels including workplace giving, major gifts, annual giving, planned giving, affinity groups, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and development services. The Vice President reports to and partners with the CEO, acts as a model of a Culture of Philanthropy, and collaborates closely with the executive team and other departments to champion the mission and achieve fundraising goals.
