About The Position

Kent is looking for a Vice President - Consulting Americas to continue the growth and positioning of Kent’s Engineering & Consulting business unit. The Consulting Americas Business Unit includes a team of specialist Engineers (includes Houston Offshore Engineering Specialists) that deliver expert solutions in Specialist consulting (Asset Development, Environmental, Floating Solutions, Low Carbon solutions, Decarbonization, Asset Integrity Management, Production Optimization, Process and Technical Safety, Late Life & Decommissioning, Offshore Wind & Power solutions and Advisory), Hull engineering to Oil & Gas majors, and Hull engineering to the developing Offshore Wind Sector. The role will direct and oversee the assignments, activities, and resources of this client-facing Business Unit (BU), in addition to providing leadership, direction and guidance to Project Managers and Technical Managers within the unit to ensure proper execution of projects. The role will actively work with Operations and Sales to develop and implement strategy and to identify opportunities for growth. The Vice President will ultimately be responsible for client relations, quality control and safety, and financial performance for the unit, which typically has annual revenues over $25M. The role is responsible for leading a transformational journey for the Americas Consulting business, expecting substantial growth in revenues aligned to the addressable market opportunity, as part of a broader transformation programme being executed across the E&C Business Unit. This role reports directly to the Senior Vice President Engineering & Consulting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Masters’ degree in Engineering, Business, or other Industry related fields of study
  • Proven competency in multi-disciplinary Consulting, Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, Maintenance, and Operations activities, with strong leadership and interpersonal skills and a sound knowledge of project delivery processes
  • Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication and skills
  • Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships
  • High energy and an intuitive business development / account management leader
  • Deep understanding of the energy industry in region, customer segmentation and customer base across sectors
  • Proven ability to manage the development of high value proposals and relate to the most senior level clients and is comfortable operating within a fast growth environment
  • Ability to embrace and lead change from both a technical and cultural perspective

  • Develop and enhance effective communications and relationships across the unit and the global Consulting Business Line so that there is a good network within the team and a strong sense of teamwork and trust
  • Work with other business units within Consulting and across Kent to maximize opportunities for Kent and bring the best of Kent to our clients
  • Drive empowerment of teams to collaborate and make decisions with the pace of our business environment
  • Drive transformational change to embrace the Growth opportunity aligned to the addressable markets within which Kent operates.
  • Plan and execute the service line and geographical diversification of Kent’s current Consulting offering.
  • Work with the Global SVP Engineering & Consulting, the Consulting Leadership Team, and other Business Unit leaders to develop and implement a strategic vision for the unit and assist with directing and coordinating efforts toward realizing vision
  • Distil this longer-term strategy into annual business plans and budgets and provide clear communication to the organization on business strategies, ensuring that the business strategy is considered in our decision-making and business planning
  • Activities include: Planning, Developing, Implementing strategies to expand capabilities, markets, and services for the unit
  • Work with Business Line SVP, Regional Business Development Lead, and other sector managers to drive sales and growth for the unit
  • Work with the Global Service Line leadership to access the associated addressable market to establish and execute growth plans
  • Embrace a global operating model to enhance the capability and capacity of the current market offering
  • Establish relationships with prospects and clients, communicate effectively with them to properly understand their needs and inform them of the various solutions that Kent has to offer
  • Manage existing client relationships and ensure potential cross unit opportunities are actively pursued or passed onto relevant peers. Ensure early positioning of Kent and participate in defining Winning Strategy
  • Responsible for allocating operational resources to win work in line with annual and quarterly new award targets for the unit. Ensure that we can demonstrate our Value Proposition to our clients, maintain contact with clients to ensure high levels of satisfaction, and keep abreast of any potential business developments within the customer base
  • Represent the company at appropriate industrial, professional, technical, civic, and government circles to enhance company image and communicate its capabilities
  • Ensure all projects and contracts are delivered successfully against target
  • Work with BU leadership to develop and deliver annual growth budget
  • Responsible for the financial performance of projects being executed by the unit
  • Direct immediate remedial actions to avoid financial losses and client dissatisfaction
  • Negotiate and execute non-standard contracts and those as specified in the Authorization Matrix
  • Responsible for monitoring, managing, and assuring excellent delivery of all projects and contract activities in respect of quality of delivery, cost and schedule and client satisfaction
  • Ensure compliance with all Kent Management System procedures, full compliance with the company policy on Anti Bribery and Corruption, integrity of all HSE, Quality, Progress and Financial data, quality of Project reports in the region, Risk Registers, etc. and feedback to proposals to ensure that we are pricing to win and execute
  • Lead a cultural transformation of the team through the adoption of a global operating model
