About The Position

The Vice President of Co-Occurring Continuum Services provides high-level senior leadership and strategic direction to assigned functional areas of Healthcare Delivery within the organization, ensuring alignment with WellSpace Health’s mission. This includes care stream LIAs (Leadership, Innovation & Accountability) director teams and Centers. This role oversees operational effectiveness, compliance, and team development while advancing health equity and organizational excellence. The employee must hold professional licensure as a mental health clinician and provides clinical leadership for behavioral health licensed independent providers (LIP) and other licensed or certified professionals (OLCPs) under the auspices of the Chief Health Officer.

Requirements

  • Currently licensed in State of California as a behavioral health clinician (MD, PsyD, LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, etc)
  • Current Drug Enforcement Administration Registration, if applicable.
  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years clinical experience in behavioral health practice.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience, preferably within healthcare, behavioral healthcare, or nonprofit healthcare organization.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and managerial skills.
  • Demonstrated ability using computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Proficiency in EHR systems, data analytics, and performance dashboards.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the provision of care services for the underserved and sensitivity working with a variety of people from low-income populations, with diverse educational, lifestyle, ethnic, and cultural origins; disabled, homeless, substance users, HIV (AIDS) infected, and/or physiologically impaired.
  • Established understanding of FQHC regulations, CCBHC regulations, HRSA standards, SAMHSA standards, HIPAA, OSHA, HEDIS/UDS metrics, The Joint Commission, FTCA risk management and California Title 22 requirements and continuous readiness systems, and ability to continue to learn and apply learning.
  • Commitment to HIPAA, and ability to abide by standards of professional ethics and maintain confidentiality and Just Culture principles and su pport the standards of High Reliability.
  • Must maintain compliance with HRSA and The Joint Commission site visit readiness, infection control, and safety drills.
  • Demonstrated skill in strategic planning, fiscal oversight, and workforce engagement.
  • Ability to lead in a matrixed environment with both licensed and non-licensed professionals.
  • Exceptional communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.
  • Current BLS Certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing multi-site or multi-disciplinary teams strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Addiction Medicine or Substance Use Prevention preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Strategically lead all senior management such as assigned LIAs and Centers to achieve strategic and operational goals.
  • Directly supervise LIAs and Center Managers and/or Lead Clinicians as appropriate, ensuring effective performance management, professional development, and accountability.
  • Develop and monitor budgets, contracts, and compliance standards in accordance with FQHC, CCBHC, SAMHSA and HRSA regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, including HRSA, SAMHSA, HIPAA, Title 22, OSHA, and Labor Codes.
  • Collaborate with other Vice Presidents and Chiefs to align cross-functional strategies and ensure integration of medical, dental, behavioral health, and administrative services and care delivery.
  • Support workforce planning, policy development, and process improvement initiatives consistent with Just Culture and trauma-informed leadership principles.
  • Represent the organization in community partnerships, board presentations, and external audits as requested by the CEO and Executive Team.
  • Provide clinical oversight or consultation within scope of practice and maintain active credentials in accordance with organization policy and FQHC or SAMHSA requirements.
  • Assist and support the LIAs and Centers to meet standards of High Reliability.
  • Other duties as assigned.
