About The Position

Appleseed Community Mental Health Center is seeking an experienced LISW-S, LPCC-S, or IFMT-S for a leadership opportunity to manage their Co-Occurring Services program. This role focuses on developing clinicians, improving behavioral health services, and supporting individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. The position involves clinical leadership, program development, community collaboration, and a small amount of direct client care. The ideal candidate is passionate about mentoring staff, overseeing grants, strengthening community partnerships, and shaping the future of the program.

Requirements

  • LISW-S, LPCC-S, or IFMT-S
  • LICDC credential or demonstrated experience providing treatment to individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
  • Minimum five years of behavioral health experience
  • Supervisory or leadership experience preferred
  • Valid Ohio driver's license
  • Reliable transportation and current automobile insurance
  • Ability to travel locally throughout Ashland County
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Experience working with individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Knowledge of Medicaid, clinical documentation, and behavioral health regulations
  • Experience with quality improvement and program development
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting staff success

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and administrative supervision to counselors, case managers, peer staff, and support personnel
  • Mentor and develop staff through supervision, coaching, and performance management
  • Review clinical documentation to ensure quality, compliance, and best practices
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, and staff evaluations
  • Maintain a small direct client caseload (approximately 10%)
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Co-Occurring Services program
  • Manage grant-funded initiatives, program outcomes, reporting, and quality improvement efforts
  • Support implementation of evidence-based practices and continuous program development
  • Collaborate with courts, schools, healthcare providers, law enforcement, Children's Services, and other community partners to improve client outcomes
  • Represent Appleseed on community coalitions, committees, and outreach initiatives
  • Support community education, prevention efforts, and recovery-focused programming
  • Lead Co-Occurring team meetings and promote a collaborative team culture
  • Identify service gaps and implement improvements to strengthen program effectiveness
  • Support ongoing staff education and the delivery of trauma-informed, person-centered care
