About The Position

We’re looking for a strategic, hands-on leader to join our team as VP, Cash & Card Management, based out of our Central Texas offices. This in-person role offers a unique opportunity to shape and elevate Horizon’s card, cash, and virtual vault operations by driving performance, strengthening controls, and enhancing the experience for both our customers and internal partners. As a key partner across Treasury, Retail, Finance, and Fraud, you’ll lead with both vision and execution—owning critical operational functions while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and revenue performance. You’ll play a central role in advancing our payment capabilities, optimizing vendor partnerships, and ensuring our operations evolve alongside the needs of the business. You’ll thrive in this role if you bring a strong operational mindset, curiosity to challenge the status quo, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving. This is an opportunity to build, lead, and make a meaningful impact across the organization, with local travel in the Austin area as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of treasury experience; or the equivalent combination of education and experience, which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job duties of this position.

Nice To Haves

  • 8+ years of direct industry experience at a $2B+ bank.
  • 5+ years of management experience.
  • 4+ years in payments, cash management, or debit cards role.
  • CFE, CAMS certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end debit card program, including processing, lifecycle management, and ongoing optimization of performance, controls, and customer experience.
  • Lead digital payment capabilities (e.g., tokenization, digital wallets) and partner with Fraud/Risk to balance security, authorization strategy, and client experience.
  • Monitor and analyze card performance (usage, approvals, declines, adoption) to identify trends, resolve issues, and drive growth in activation and interchange revenue.
  • Oversee network, processor, and regulatory changes (e.g., Visa mandates, EMV, BIN management), ensuring seamless execution and strong operational governance.
  • Lead end-to-end Virtual Vault and cash operations, including setup, processing, reconciliation, and service delivery across branches and commercial clients.
  • Manage cash positioning, ordering, and logistics across the Federal Reserve and armored carrier network to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Own key vendor relationships (e.g., armored carriers, vault providers, card networks), including pricing, performance management, and issue escalation.
  • Partner cross-functionally (Treasury, Accounting, Retail, Fraud) to support cash and card services while driving continuous operational improvement.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence.
  • Serve as a hands-on leader and strategic partner, contributing to enterprise initiatives and driving continuous improvement across the organization.
