About The Position

WebBank is seeking an experienced candidate for the position of Vice President – Capital Markets. This role involves driving the marketing, structuring, underwriting, execution, and client relationship management for capital markets opportunities with Strategic Partner platforms and other specialty finance companies. The position will also assist lending teams on syndication opportunities or of risk positions, as needed. The ideal candidate will have direct experience in structuring, rating, and distributing private asset-backed transactions, with a strong background in legal documentation and the execution process for 4(a)(2) private placement securitizations, forward flow / pass-through transactions, and levered structured certificate structures in loan form (rated and unrated). The Vice President – Capital Markets will work closely with the Head of Asset Finance to identify, market, structure, and execute transactions, driving the day-to-day capital markets business. This includes developing a business plan for actionable private capital markets opportunities, pitching capital markets solutions to the Bank’s Strategic Partners, attending conferences and prospect meetings, building a distribution network with institutional investors, engaging with rating agencies, and managing syndications for the Bank’s asset lending businesses. The role requires interaction with various internal departments and third-party resources.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in financial or technical field
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in the asset finance industry at an originator/issuer, bank or private credit fund
  • Proven track record and expert knowledge of asset-backed structured finance capital markets
  • Transaction experience in forward flow loan sales, rated asset-backed private placements and levered pass-through structures
  • Background in consumer credit assets and small business credit assets
  • Detail-oriented focus, willingness to work with clients to educate them on all structural considerations of asset finance transactions
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Intex, data management and ability to model and understand transaction structures
  • Experience evaluating transactional risk and providing analysis to senior management and the Bank credit teams
  • Excellent client management, time-management and transaction management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, on multiple projects simultaneously, and to meet project deadline requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Bank management teams to identify capital markets solutions for the Bank’s Strategic Partners and other specialty finance companies
  • Market, structure and execute private capital markets transactions where the Bank can lead rating agencies discussions and serve as lead placement agent
  • Drive deal execution and the structuring and negotiation of deal structures and terms with prospective clients and investors
  • Perform due diligence on potential clients and issuers to qualify them for capital markets opportunities
  • Guide the preparation of term sheets and transaction documentation where the Bank is a lead arranger/placement agent, in coordination with the Bank’s Credit and Counterparty Risk and Legal Teams, and external counsel.
  • Act as a guide and mentor to junior members of the team in all facets of deal execution and closing
  • Coordinate the due diligence and structuring process for new mandates, including overseeing financial modeling, determining asset performance, work with rating agencies (as needed) and preparing underwriting memoranda for new transactions.
  • Drive syndication process of Bank risk positions to third parties; Prepare virtual data rooms, confidential marketing materials, understand credit, pricing, and program details
  • Present new transactions to the Bank’s Loan Committee
  • Assist with development and tracking of business development and transaction goals
  • Provide frequent and ongoing communication to Head of Asset Finance
  • Perform additional strategic duties as directed by the Head of Asset Finance
