About The Position

We are looking for a Vice President, Information Systems to join our team at Lightspeed. In this role, you will be responsible for defining and implementing the enterprise systems strategy that supports Lightspeed's global growth, operational excellence, and company transformation initiatives. Reporting to the SVP, Systems & Revenue, you will lead a global Information Systems organization encompassing product management, engineering, enablement, support, governance, and enterprise platforms. You will be accountable for the vision, investment strategy, operating model, and performance of Lightspeed's enterprise systems ecosystem, ensuring that technology capabilities effectively support business priorities, scale growth, and organizational efficiency. As a senior leader and strategic partner to the executive team, you will drive company-wide transformation initiatives, optimize business processes, and influence organizational decisions related to systems, automation, AI integration, and operational scalability. You will balance long-term strategic planning with operational excellence to ensure Lightspeed's technology environment remains secure, resilient, cost-effective, and ready to support future growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in Information Systems, enterprise applications, business systems, technology operations, or related functions.
  • Experience leading large, multi-layered enterprise systems organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience in defining enterprise technology strategies and leading complex organizational transformation initiatives.
  • Experience managing significant operating budgets, technology investment portfolios, and strategic vendor relationships.
  • Experience leveraging automation, artificial intelligence, and modern enterprise platforms to drive business outcomes.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to translate organizational priorities into scalable systems and processes.
  • Excellent decision-making and prioritization skills in complex, fast-paced environments.
  • Experience with change management, organizational transformation, and continuous improvement.
  • An analytical and problem-solving mindset with a data-driven approach.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and foster alignment among diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to senior leadership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. As Lightspeed is a global company with employees and customers outside of Quebec, proficiency in English as a working language is required for this role.
  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise systems, governance, service delivery, and business operations.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute Lightspeed's multi-year enterprise systems strategy in alignment with corporate objectives, growth plans, and transformation priorities.
  • Lead company-wide transformation initiatives aimed at simplifying business processes, improving scalability, and increasing organizational efficiency.
  • Drive the adoption of artificial intelligence, automation, and emerging technologies to enhance employee productivity, operational efficiency, and business performance.
  • Ensure enterprise systems capabilities support future growth, acquisitions, geographic expansion, and evolving business models.
  • Establish governance, prioritization, and operating frameworks that foster effective decision-making, optimal resource allocation, and consistent delivery standards across the IS portfolio.
  • Assume responsibility for the Information Systems operating budget, investment portfolio, and resource planning process.
  • Optimize technology spend while balancing innovation, scalability, and operational reliability.
  • Ensure enterprise systems investments deliver measurable business outcomes and tangible ROI.
  • Lead executive-level vendor negotiations and make decisions regarding strategic technology partnerships.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for all enterprise systems-related initiatives, balancing business value, operational stability, compliance, and technical sustainability.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, key risks, dependencies, and resource allocation, intervening quickly to resolve issues and optimize outcomes.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on enterprise systems strategy, digital transformation, automation, and operational scalability.
  • Influence organizational decision-making through data-driven recommendations and strategic insights.
  • Develop strong partnerships with leaders across Finance, Revenue, Operations, HR, and Technology teams to ensure enterprise systems align with organizational needs.
  • Ensure enterprise systems and platforms effectively support revenue generation, customer operations, and internal functions.
  • Drive adoption, effectiveness, and value creation from Information Systems capabilities and services.
  • Collaborate with Data, Product, and Technology teams to align enterprise systems with overall company AI, analytics, and automation strategies.
  • Foster continuous improvement in Information Systems processes, workflows, services, and operating methods.
  • Maintain high standards for operational stability, compliance, scalability, and documentation.
  • Implement performance metrics and operating cadences that drive accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and develop a global organization of leaders responsible for product management, engineering, enablement, support, governance, and enterprise platforms.
  • Define and evolve the organizational structure, operating model, and talent strategy necessary to support future company growth.
  • Develop leadership capabilities and succession plans for critical roles within the Information Systems organization.
