This position is part of Fairfax County Government's initiative to shape racial and social equity policies through the One Fairfax Policy. The role involves providing one-on-one counseling to clients to help them analyze and compare Medicare health plan and prescription drug plan options, and access other benefits. The position ensures program service delivery through volunteer support, performs data collection, and conducts professional analytic and technical work related to the Virginia Insurance Counseling and Assistance Program (VICAP) Unit. Responsibilities include measuring and analyzing performance indicators for VICAP, MIPPA, and SMP, exercising independent judgment in applying knowledge of agency and community services related to Medicare and Dual Eligibility Medicaid, and complying with counselor guidelines, including confidentiality. The role involves analyzing, problem-solving, and providing information on Medicare, Dual Eligibility Medicaid, supplemental health insurance, long-term care insurance, other related health insurance programs, and Medicare fraud and abuse. Additionally, the position develops, coordinates, and presents Medicare training and outreach to various groups.
