About The Position

North Torrington Veterinary Hospital is seeking an Experienced Part-Time Technician or Experienced Veterinary Assistant to join their team. They treat every pet as part of their family and serve the Torrington community with compassionate, personalized care. They support the health of patients at every stage of life, from routine checkups to advanced diagnostics and surgery, with a focus on comfort, trust, and lasting relationships.

Requirements

• 3 or more years' experience as a veterinary technician or assistant.
• Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Must be able to work a rotation of alternating Saturdays.
• Alternating weeks of 3-day and 4-day work weeks.

Nice To Haves

• Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT, RVT, or LVT) or eligibility to obtain licensure based on state requirements.
• Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures.
• Safely handle and restrain animals; administer medications and vaccines.
• Collect lab samples and maintain accurate patient records.
• Educate clients on pet care and ensure a clean, organized work environment.
