About The Position

Neighborhood Veterinary Center is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and dependable Veterinary Technician to join our growing team. Our newly built veterinary hospital is conveniently located in Hallandale Beach, near I-95, and features modern equipment and technology designed to support high-quality patient care. The hospital includes digital radiography, in-house laboratory equipment for comprehensive blood and urine testing, laser therapy, spacious surgical and dental suites, and modern anesthesia and patient-monitoring equipment. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, communicates professionally, works well as part of a team, and is committed to providing excellent care to both pets and their owners.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of veterinary technician experience required
  • Strong knowledge of veterinary patient care, vaccines, medications, and animal handling
  • Experience with blood draws and IV catheter placement
  • Comfortable safely handling both dogs and cats
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Dependable, punctual, and professional
  • Able to take initiative while also following established protocols and veterinarian direction
  • Compassionate and patient with both animals and their owners
  • Strong commitment to teamwork and high-quality patient care

Nice To Haves

  • Surgical and anesthesia-monitoring experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Obtain thorough patient histories from pet owners
  • Perform and accurately document TPRs and other vital signs
  • Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats
  • Perform venipuncture and collect blood samples
  • Place and maintain IV catheters
  • Prepare and process laboratory samples
  • Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and procedures
  • Prepare patients and equipment for surgical and dental procedures
  • Assist during surgery and monitor patients under anesthesia
  • Monitor and provide appropriate care to patients during recovery
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
  • Maintain accurate and complete medical records
  • Review medication and at-home care instructions with clients
  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with pet owners
  • Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked treatment and patient-care areas
  • Work collaboratively with veterinarians, technicians, reception, and other support staff
