About The Position
Wellspring Animal Hospital is seeking an Experienced Veterinary Technician to join their team. This role will support both outpatient care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry. The ideal candidate is a versatile, client-focused technician who thrives in a dynamic general practice environment, balancing exam room care, client communication, and hands-on procedural support. The hospital values credentialed technicians for their clinical knowledge, judgment, and communication skills across all areas, aiming to elevate the quality of medicine, client experience, and patient care. In this position, you will play a key role in both outpatient and procedural workflows, contributing to a consistent, high standard of care throughout the patient visit. This role is ideal for technicians who enjoy variety, are confident moving between exam room and procedure support, and want to fully utilize their clinical knowledge, technical skillset, and client communication abilities in a collaborative general practice environment.
Requirements
- 3+ years of veterinary technician experience
- Active and good-standing Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of Kansas preferred
- Proficiency in anesthetic induction, monitoring, and recovery
- Proficiency in surgical assistance and aseptic technique
- Proficiency in dental prophylaxis and dental radiography
- Proficiency in venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement
- Proficiency in client education and communication
- Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to high-quality patient care and continuous learning
Nice To Haves
- Recent graduates pending VTNE testing and licensure, or out-of-state license-holders who are eligible to transfer a license, are also encouraged to apply
Responsibilities
- Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
- Performing anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
- Assisting in surgery
- Performing dental procedures, including prophylaxis and radiography
- Building strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
