About The Position
Salazar Road Veterinary Clinic is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join their team. They provide comprehensive care for dogs and cats, as well as minor exotics like birds, reptiles, and pocket pets, allowing technicians to expand and utilize a broad range of skills. Services include preventive care, diagnostics, surgery, dentistry, and cold laser therapy. The clinic emphasizes compassionate, individualized care, a supportive team culture, learning, collaboration, and exceptional patient care.
Requirements
- 2+ years of veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience
- Active and good-standing Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of New Mexico (preferred)
- Proficiency in patient assessment, nursing care, and monitoring (preferred)
- Proficiency in surgical assistance and aseptic technique (preferred)
- Proficiency in anesthesia induction and monitoring (preferred)
- Proficiency in dental prophylaxis and radiography (preferred)
- Proficiency in venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement (preferred)
- Proficiency in radiology positioning and safety protocols (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care and patient advocacy
- Assist with exams, treatments, and procedures
- Support with anesthesia monitoring and surgical assistance
- Educate clients and support strong client relationships
- Collaborate closely with a team that values communication and teamwork
