About The Position

VCA Metzger is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join the Overnight ER team in State College PA! We are a state of the art facility equipped with advance diagnostic tools which allows us to provide support to both routine and critical patient needs. We have 24-hour care with an emergency doctor and technicians on site at ALL times. In addition to our Feline Friendly and AAHA accreditations, VCA Metzger Animal Hospital is a Level III VECCS (Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society) Certified Veterinary Emergency Hospital. We are eager to welcome a dedicated and experienced individual that is committed to providing a high standard of patient care and client service. Prior ER experience is required for this role.

Requirements

Prior ER experience is required.
Credentials (CVT, RVT, LVT) are required.

Utilize knowledge and skills in physical examinations and patient assessment.
Perform anesthesia monitoring.
Assist with surgical preparation.
Perform dentistry.
Conduct radiology.
Perform laboratory work.
Perform venipuncture.
Perform catheter placement.
Manage pharmacy.
Oversee patient recovery.
Provide compassionate care of hospitalized animals.
