The Saint Louis Zoo is seeking a positive and team-oriented Veterinary Technician to join their Animal Health team. This role involves splitting time between the Forest Park campus, the WildCare Park hospital, and the Sear’s Lehmann Jr. Wildlife Reserve. Safety and animal welfare are paramount, requiring the ability to work in various weather and environments. The position focuses on providing clinical support in radiology, anesthesia, and surgery. Advanced skills in anesthetic monitoring, ventilator use, and direct blood pressure monitoring are desirable. Responsibilities include in-house laboratory work such as parasitology, urinalysis, and cytology, along with knowledge of shipping procedures for biological samples. Support for the pathology team may involve assisting with gross necropsy, data entry, tissue packaging, and processing for histopathology.
