Requirements

  • Previous veterinary technician experience required
  • Veterinary Technician License (LVT, RVT, or CVT) is welcomed
  • Strong technical and nursing skills
  • Confidence with patient restraint, venipuncture, and laboratory procedures
  • Experience assisting with surgery and anesthesia monitoring
  • Compassionate communication skills with clients and coworkers
  • A collaborative, team-first mindset
  • A positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, surgeries, and medical procedures
  • Safely handle and restrain patients using compassionate, low-stress techniques
  • Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and sample collection
  • Monitor anesthesia and assist with surgical procedures
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
  • Perform laboratory testing and obtain diagnostic samples
  • Capture quality diagnostic radiographs
  • Monitor hospitalized patients and provide attentive nursing care
  • Obtain accurate patient histories and maintain complete medical records
  • Educate clients on preventive care, medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
  • Anticipate the needs of the veterinarians to promote efficiency throughout the hospital
  • Maintain clean, organized exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment
  • Collaborate with teammates to deliver exceptional patient care and client service
