Veterinary Technician - Emergency - Mid-Shift
About The Position
Hickory Veterinary and Specialty Hospital is hiring a Veterinary Technician to support emergency and specialty care in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania. The position is full-time and offers a starting wage of $25 per hour, a $5,000 sign-on bonus, and a $2,000 retention bonus. The schedule currently offers evening swing shifts: either four 10-hour shifts or three 12-hour shifts. Listed options are Thursday–Saturday, 2 p.m.–2 a.m., or Wednesday–Saturday, 4 p.m.–2 a.m. The technician will triage and treat emergency patients, partner with emergency veterinarians on treatment plans for acute and complex cases, communicate compassionately with pet parents, and keep the workspace ready for urgent care. Requirements
- Emergency room or intensive care unit experience.
- Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure.
- Clinical skills in IV placement, venipuncture, laboratory processing, and anesthesia.
- Collaborative mindset and passion for learning.
Responsibilities
- Triage and treat emergency patients, including providing fluids, medications, and life-saving interventions.
- Partner with emergency veterinarians on treatment plans for acute, complex cases.
- Support pet parents through clear, compassionate communication.
