About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Relief Veterinary Technician to support our Emergency and ICU departments. This role is ideal for skilled technicians looking for flexible scheduling while working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and high-acuity environment.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of veterinary technician experience
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Strong clinical skills with attention to detail
- Quick learner with a proactive mindset
- Compassionate, patient-focused approach with strong communication skills
- Unrestricted, current authorization to work in the U.S. and not require future sponsorship for an employment-based green card.
Nice To Haves
- Emergency and/or ICU experience strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Triage emergency cases, including obtaining and assessing vital signs (TPR, blood pressure, oxygen saturation)
- Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia using appropriate monitoring equipment
- Perform digital radiography with proper positioning and hands-on technique
- Monitor patient status and alert veterinarians to changes or concerns
- Identify patients at risk of arrest and initiate CPR when needed
- Calculate and administer medications, including constant rate infusions (CRIs)
- Perform phlebotomy and place IV catheters in peripheral vessels
- Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters
- Maintain a strong understanding of normal vs. abnormal patient parameters
- Support and mentor team members as needed
- Provide empathetic, clear communication to clients
